  • Future Fest Unity Developer Experience

    At Future Fest, I had the opportunity to dive into multiplayer networking, world building, and live production development, working across multiple platforms (PC, MacOS, WebGL, WebGPU) and experimenting with immersive, real-time virtual event experiences. My work involved everything from multiplayer infrastructure and complex networked interactions to coordinating with art and event teams for a cohesive live production.

    Key Skills and Highlights:

    • Multiplayer Networking & Server Authority: Developed with Mirror, implementing server-authoritative systems for secure and synchronized multiplayer experiences

    • Networked Rides & Platforms: Designed and built interactive rides like roller coasters, Ferris wheels, jetskis, and go-karts, along with networked player platforms for seamless social engagement

    • Advanced Character Systems: Created character state machines to support features like mounting, swimming, dances, and an action system with swappable elements using Addressables

    • VFX and Day/Night Cycles: Integrated dynamic VFX and implemented a day/night cycle to enrich the environment

    • Admin Controls: Developed admin tools for live, real-time controls during events, allowing for spontaneous interactions and audience engagement

    • Cloud Services & APIs:

      • Utilized Unity Cloud (previously Unity Game Services) for game management

      • Integrated Twitch SDK, REST APIs, and AWS for reliable backend support and streaming

    • Voice & Text Communication: Leveraged Vivox for real-time voice chat and Web Sockets for enhanced text communication and event triggers

    • World Design & Cinematics: Created immersive worlds with Cinemachine and Timeline, capturing dynamic cinematic moments for impactful player experiences

    • Cross-Team Collaboration:

      • Worked with internal Unity development teams like DevBuddy and art partners (Future House, Fiverr)

      • Coordinated with promoters, sponsors, and music artists under intense production schedules

    Additional Features:

    • Live Streaming and AV: Managed live streaming with AVPro and HLS, and integrated AWS IVS & Real-Time for robust video delivery

    • Platform Deployment & Cloud Streaming: Developed for multiple platforms, including Cloud Streaming solutions (Vagon, Furioos) to reach a broader audience

    • NFT Art Tooling: Contributed to NFT art creation tools for unique digital assets

    Future Fest gave me invaluable hands-on experience, allowing me to collaborate on large-scale, high-impact virtual events with a blend of technical depth, artistic vision, and teamwork.
